Lessons
I have been teaching piano for about 15 years now.
When teaching, it is very important to me to focus on our connection to music. In other words, it's not just about results, but about how we feel when we play: Are we tense, stressed, do we feel under pressure? Or do we feel free, can we let our creativity run free - do we feel relaxed after playing?
I believe we can learn to build a healthy relationship with the instrument if we let go physically and mentally step by step and lower our expectations.
Since I deal with and love very different music, I like to keep the lessons stylistically open. Let's find out together what you want to learn! My focus is on jazz improvisation (which includes music theory), working with synthesizers and producing your own tracks with Ableton Live. In my 20 years as a pianist, I have also worked a lot with classical music, RnB and pop. We can find out together in which direction the journey will take us. In my experience, everyone learns differently. That's why it's important to me that we look together at what rhythm/intensity and how much input works best for you. It's always about a balance of challenge and pure fun... but above all fun.
My lessons take place in my studio/practice room in Neukölln, Berlin, where we also have the chance to produce and use gear such as my Hoffmann upright piano, a Roland 909 drumcomputer or my Prophet Rev2 Synth.
